Tokyo Metropolitan University (首都大学東京 しゅとだいがくとうきょう), often referred to as TMU, is a Public Research University in Japan. The origin of Tokyo Metropolitan University was Prefectural Higher School, under the old system of education, established by Tokyo Prefecture in 1929 as the third public higher school.  The Japanese name of Tokyo Metropolitan University will be changed from “首都大学東京 (Shuto-Daigaku-Tokyo)” to “東京都立大学 (Tokyo-Toritsu-Daigaku)” effective April 1, 2020, but English name will remain unchanged. The TMU has 4 compuses: Minami-Osawa Campus, Hino Campus, Arakawa Campus, Harumi Campus, Marunouchi Satellite Campus, our conference venue will be at the Marunouchi Satellite Campusthis venue is just in front of Akihabara Station. So, the attendants can enjoy walking around, this area and go sightseeing easily to many places in Tokyo.

Transportation for Access to Akihabara and Travel Information

Transportation for Access to Akihabara

There are two international airports of Narita and Haneda for accessing to Akihabara from abroad.

From Haneda Airport:

[By Train]

(1) Take Keikyu Line from Haneda Airport International Terminal station to Shinagawa. Then take Yamanote Line or Keihin-Tohoku Line (JR) to get to Akihabara station. It will take about 50 minutes.

(2) Take Tokyo Monorail from Haneda Airport International Terminal station to Hamamatuchou. Then take Yamanote Line or Keihin-Tohoku Line (JR) to get to Akihabara station. It will take about 35 minutes.


From Narita Airport:.

[By Train]

(1) Take Skyliner of Keisei from Narita Airport to Nippori. Then take Yamanote Line or Keihin-Tohoku Line (JR) to get to Akihabara station. It will take about 60 minutes. Need a seat reservation for taking Skyliner.

(2) Take Narita Sky-Access Limited Express from Narita Airport to Keisei Takasago. Then take Keisei Line to Nippori. After that, take Yamanote Line or Keihin-Tohoku Line (JR) to get to Akihabara station. It will take about 100 minutes.

(3) Take Keisei Limited Express from Narita Airport to Nippori. Then, take Yamanote Line or Keihin-Tohoku Line (JR) to get to Akihabara station. It will take about 90 minutes.

(4) Take Narita Express (JR) from Narita Airport to Tokyo station. Then take Yamanote Line or Keihin-Tohoku Line (JR) to get to Akihabara station. It will take about 75 minutes. Need a seat reservation for taking Narita Express.


[By Bus and Train]

(1) Take Tokyo Shuttle Bus from Narita Airport Terminal 1 to Tokyo Station Yaesuguchimae. Then, take Yamanote Line or Keihin-Tohoku Line (JR) to get to Akihabara station. It will take about 90 minutes.
